Small Batch. Woman Owned. Community Driven.
Eclipse Brewing was originally created by Chris and Beth Mattern, who built a cozy neighborhood spot that many locals came to love. After years of running the brewery, they stepped into retirement—opening the door for Eclipse to begin a new chapter.
In August 2025, Megan Hilbert, a Pennsauken native and a long-time food and beverage professional, took over with a vision to refresh and expand what Eclipse could offer. With women-owned breweries remaining a small fraction of the craft beer industry nationally (only ~3% are entirely woman-owned) and men still dominating ownership roles, Eclipse Brewing stands proudly as a woman-owned and operated craft brewery. Megan brings her decade of food and beverage experience to her role as one of New Jersey’s youngest brewery owners, helping lead the way for a new generation of brewers.
Megan’s goal is to keep the welcoming spirit Chris and Beth created, while making it a venue for events, and create a place that welcomes new families, younger generations, and longtime regulars alike. With a full rebrand and updated design, Eclipse now blends a warm, modern atmosphere with the familiar charm of a small-town gathering place.
Today, Eclipse Brewing is more than a brewery; it’s Merchantville’s emerging event hub—an adaptable, welcoming space for baby showers, birthday parties, bridal events, corporate happy hours, workshops, community nights, and a wide range of celebrations.
The refreshed Eclipse offers room for connection, creativity, and memorable moments of all kinds. Whether guests stop in for a drink, come to trivia night, or reserve the space for a special occasion, they’ll find a cozy, one of a kind, indoor and outdoor environment designed for bringing people together.
This is Eclipse Brewing’s next chapter: a revitalized space, a renewed vision, and a community-focused future.
